Huawei plans to chase down Apple and Samsung in the US market

With the introduction of competitive phone models, combined with 20 years of experience in the technology business and 16 research labs in six countries, the company believe it can now take on the US market. But of course, it has to come up with a strategy that will make it able to compete with the two reigning giants; Apple and Samsung.

US smartphone market

Huawei understands that their most reliable strategy to entering the US smartphone market is to work with the networks. They already have phones on T-Mobile, AT&T and Sprint, but they need to do more. Unfortunately, Verizon won’t be selling Huawei’s phones, only their Wi-Fi dongles and hotspots hardware devices.

While the company knows its success in the US lies with the networks, it is not ignoring direct sales. The company plans to sell its phones online, which is already accessible now. These include unsubsidized and unlocked models like the Snap to, MediaPadT1.80 and the Ascend Mate 2 phones.

Huawei Smartphones

Huawei has a lot of work to do, in order to penetrate the US market. First, it needs to focus more on high-end phones like the P8 and P8max and then try to get a better ComScore ranking, which currently puts it below the top five.

To reach the first five and attain at least a 4% market share, it needs to jump over LG, Motorola and HTC. Italso needs to keep an eye on its rival ZTE, who also has an eye for the US market.
